Mònica Almirall BatetCo-Artistic Director of ATRESBANdES, Mònica Almirall is an actress, theatre-maker and dramaturg
Mònica graduated in Drama at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, specialising in Theatrical Biomechanics with Moreno Bernardi. In 2008, together with Albert Pérez and Miquel Segovia, she began an artistic project that would eventually become the theatre company ATRESBANDES. As an actress and deviser, she has participated in all their shows presented in different contexts and national and international festivals: El Señor Arreglos (2008), A l’altra banda/De l’autre côté (2011), Solfatara (2012), Locus Amoenus (2014) and ALL IN (2016). In recent years the company has begun collaborative work with other companies: The Last Supper (2018), CODA (2019), Ultima Thule (2019), It don’t worry me (2020) and La Guerra dels Mons (2021). They have also organised the first three editions of the CROQUIS_BCN season with the support of Sala Beckett and the Can Felipa Civic Center in Barcelona: a small festival of work in progress projects.
Since 2012 she has collaborated in projects with other groups such as La Veronal, El Conde de Torrefiel, Mariona Naudín, Projecte NISU, RRR Roger Bernat and Centaure Produccions.
As dramaturg and consultant, she has also collaborated with MosMaiorum company and in ‘Aquell día tèrbol que vaig sortir d’un cinema de l’Eixample i vaig dedicir convertir-me en un om’, directed by Alicia Gorina.
