ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

A one-day workshop with Little Soldier’s Artistic Directors, Patricia Rodriguez and Mercè Ribot. The award-winning performers and directors will share their unique approach to theatre-making by looking into two key aspects of Little Soldier’s work: technique and anarchy.

Throughout the workshop, we’ll explore the balance between chaos and choreographed material whilst maintaining the truth of the situation. This is one of comedy’s main challenges and our primary focus.

We will work on:

  • slapstick and physical routines
  • our relationship with the audience: truth, freedom and pleasure
  • the beauty in tragicomedy and Little Soldier’s performance ethos

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM OUR WORKSHOPS

  • Our workshops are loads of fun, there is laughter in the room and people are energised
  • We like to create a safe environment so participants feel free to be themselves – away from the notion of ‘being good’ and embracing failure
  • We encourage the ‘wild’ and risk-taking so people feel surprised at their discoveries.
*Early bird booking before the Friday 24th of Feb.

**Concessions: Students, Low Income or Unemployed & Pensioners. Other concessions may apply, contact us at admin@littlesoldierproductions.co.uk

If you have any questions about accessibility or the workshop in general, please email us at admin@littlesoldierproductions.co.uk.

To Register

“I’ve never found more joy or confidence as a performer than when working with Little Soldier. Mercè and Patricia have a way of teasing out the boldest and silliest ideas you might have and crafting them into theatre magic.”

Workshop Attendee

“This workshop reminded me of a few golden things; the need to play and the need to be ok even in ‘The Flop’”.
