Rough Cut

A show directed by Ursula Martinez and inspired by Samuel Beckett

Work currently under development.

Rough Cut is a journey of discovery into the real meaning of success and why we keep doing what we do, even in the face of failure. When the restrictions of the Beckett Estate prevented us from making our own version of Waiting for Godot and wrecked our plans for a sure fire route to the big time, we decided instead to use the play as a pretext to examine our motives as creators.

Rough Cut is a two-hander by performance duo Patricia Rodriguez and Mercè Ribot and led by Olivier Award-winning artist, Ursula Martinez.

“I really enjoyed Rough Cut and its dual narrative – the rejection of the orthodoxy while searching for recognition and achievement, and the echoes of Godot.  I can see this dual narrative playing out beautifully over a full-length show”.
