Rough Cut

A show directed by Ursula Martinez and inspired by Samuel Beckett

Work currently under development.

Two characters, coincidentally resembling Pozzo and Lucky from ‘Waiting For Godot’, appear on stage. One has a rope around her neck and the other holds it. They are dog and owner.

–  Rooooooough! – Patricia barks.

–  Cut! – Mercè replies.

Rough Cut is a two-hander by performance duo Patricia Rodriguez and Mercè Ribot and led by Olivier Award-winning artist, Ursula Martinez. Exploring the universal topic of ambition versus failure and the desire for success, this is their most personal work to date.

“I really enjoyed Rough Cut and its dual narrative – the rejection of the orthodoxy while searching for recognition and achievement, and the echoes of Godot.  I can see this dual narrative playing out beautifully over a full-length show”.
