Carolina Ortega es una directora, dramaturga e intérprete venezolana. Estudió T 'MA Text & Performance' en RADA (Londres) y Literatura y Escritura Creativa (Drama) en la Universidad de Londres. Se formó en teatro físico en LISPA y City Lit, así como con John Mowat Lee Delong, Lorna Marshall y Philippe Gaulier. Se formó en performance experimental en SMASH (Berlín) y estudió Dirección Teatral Documental y Biográfica y Dramaturgia en la Universität der Künste Berlin.
Los créditos de dirección incluyen, 'I Gave Him an Orchid' (Jury Price 100Grad Berlín 2014, Edinburgh Fringe 2015), 'What The Circus'(Roundhouse Londres y Garage Norwich 2017) Creó y dirigió 'Freedom Hurts' (Sophiensaele 100Grad Berlín 2015) y 'No Way Out' (Camden People's Theatre Londres, Ballhaus Ost Berlín 2018). Otros créditos de dirección incluyen Ensonglopedia of British History en 2019 y E of the Human en 2021; 'What Silence Has To Say' de Blauhauch (2018) y '(R)Evolving Path' con Alex Carrillo (2018). Actualmente dirige la nueva obra de Gozde Atalay 'NOMAD' que se estrenará en 2022.
Como dramaturga, ha trabajado con Nassim Soleimanpour (IR/DE) ('Nassim'/ Bush Theatre & Ed Fringe Festival 2017 & Nassim Soleimanpour/ Jesper Pedersen (DK) 'Cook' CPH Festival 2017. Ha trabajado como dramaturga de danza con Alex Carrillo en Dock 11 Berlin y con Enrico D. Wey (USA/TW) en UdK y Dansepace NYC (USA). Otros créditos de dramaturgia incluyen Tangram Theatre ('Fuente Ovejuna', Londres 2011), John Hinton ('Earth Calling' y 'Grolid Sound', 2009), y Scandimaniacs (SE) ('Lowbottomy', Blue Elephant 2013), Idreman (Amsterdam Fringe, 2011).
